Sample blockprinted wallpaper "The Pause" 26cm x 25cm

€4.50

"Even the pause belongs to the music." — Stefan Zweig

Inspired by a 19th-century interior photograph of a house in Vienna, this pattern carries the quiet formality of a world on the cusp of change — the last breath of European elegance just before modernism arrived and swept it away.

Printed by hand using carved pearwood blocks pressed into distemper paint made from chalk, hide glue, and non-toxic pigments. Background colour painted first by brush, block colours built up layer by layer on top. The result is a matte, velvety surface with the subtle irregularity that only hand printing produces.

It suits a dining room, a study, or a hallway where a little ceremony still feels right.

This sample is a real piece of the wallpaper, printed in the same technique and the same distemper as a full project. 26 × 25 cm. Full wallpaper from €60/m², printed to order in any colour from our pigment palette.
