"Seeds of unending love." — Muriel Rukeyser
This pattern was found on the walls of a house in Kruishoutem, dating from the second half of the 19th century. Rather than reinterpreting it, we reproduced it as faithfully as possible — the same technique, the same materials, the same hand-printed process it was made with the first time around. A wallpaper that had been quietly waiting on those walls for over a century and a half gets an unexpected new life.
Printed by hand using three carved pearwood blocks pressed into distemper paint made from chalk, hide glue, and non-toxic pigments. Three colours, three passes, each one drying before the next begins. The result is a matte, velvety surface with the depth and slight irregularity that only hand printing produces.
It suits a living room, a bedroom, or any space that feels right with something that has already proven itself over generations.
This sample is a real piece of the wallpaper, printed in the same technique and the same distemper as a full project. 26 × 25 cm. Full wallpaper from €80/m², printed to order in any colour from our pigment palette.
